Rental of the Day: 561 Henry Street
We like the looks of this two-bedroom brownstone rental at 561 Henry Street in Carroll Gardens. Everything appears to be in fine shape, the listing brags over 1,300 square feet of space, there’s a dishwasher, and heat and hot water is included in the rent. (Which is $3,000 a month, by the way.) There’s also a den and separate dining area. The rent isn’t unthinkable for that area of Carroll Gardens, which is only a few blocks to the Carroll Street subway. Think it’ll go get snapped up?

No need to be, I’m sorry if I came across as being too snappy/snarky/persnickety.
I would have no qualms about moving from Brooklyn Heights to this block, but that bldg/apt has way too much creepiness factor.
A ten minute walk is ideal because you can finish your coffee/tea and check a few emails.
then board the subway and jostle about with the proles
damn I gotta move to CG…
Oops, sorry.
Nomi – tongue in cheek. I think it goes without saying everything on this blog is overpriced. Included how much effort it takes to make yourself understood.
Yeah, it is in an awesome place for Lucali’s, the Farmacy an Mazolla’s Bakery.
Boerumresident – agreed, despite the history of this building/apt, its a great part of CG. A block from Mazzola Bakery is a selling point; around the corner from the libary is relevant; the neighborhood people are kick-ass, especially the old-timers. Where the subway is better left unsaid; tons of good reasons to move here, but convenience isn’t it.
BoerumHill, how is it overpriced when a 600 foot place in the same neighborhood and distance from the subway is around $2000?
Yes, assuming bedbug problem is gone.
Murder? What’s the discount for that?
Carol and dh — I think I kicked off the subway thing.
I think it’s a fine part of CG, just don’t sell it as being close to the subway. (If anything, sell it as being quiet yet only steps to Lucali, other restaurants and a bakery.)
