  1. Nomi,

It’s almost always a surprise when I see a home in person that I’ve seen on the web. Photos rarely convey accurately. Usually home look worse in person. Occassionally better.

  2. ditmaspark, not to sound too paranoid, but wondering if you think they literally edit the photos, as in erase things like cracked walls, or are you just saying that certain flaws cannot be seen in the photos?

  3. Nomi – agreed
I think it’s a cute house and I think we look at houses with a better eye than most people
most of the public would look at those bad photos and write the house off I would think

  4. “plus, that end of dorchester is really skank, not to mention the surrounding apartment buildings.” (ditmaspark)

Hm, what I see on Google Streetview must be before it was painted.

Anyway, is it that skanky there?

  5. I love the Ditmas house but the location is less than prime. The house looks lovely, but having a beautiful house wedged in amongst the apartment buildings is not really that deisrable. Location, location, location.

  6. Oh, man, just looked at the 15th Street photos again — YES. I see it’s FSBO. I’d like to suggest they spend the money to have it professionally photographed. So worth it. Unless, of course, they sell it this weekend .. . . Looks like a sweet house in a slight ramshackle way. Small, but that can be desirable to some. (Me.)

Yes, to all FSBO owners: Taking interior photograph is a skill, and not one easy to come by. It takes knowing a lot of tricks. And I am not talking about the bowling-alley-super-wide-angle-Corcoran tricks.
