That Rainbow clothing store is still there. Also some 99 cent stores. But I would think that stretch of 5th Ave is bound to get nicer some time, right?
There used to be a Rainbow clothing store around the corner, but it has probably been replaced by something artisanal. I guess you probably have their contact infoz, but if you need anything or have more questions, let me know. I think that house is a pretty safe bet just because the location is so good and it’s been fixed up. They have a neighbor who has done an all-out renovation — expanding the space, a lot more high-end finishes.
Stairs to the top floor are standard size. They are fine.
Not sure if it was and old theatre, but seems like it could be. It’s a gym now. So, that’s convenient if you’re looking for a close gym .. . .
Yeah, I think it’s an old theater? Or did they tear the theater down? I visit them a lot less than I should.
The stairs could be widened, I think? (Between garden and parlour) I can’t remember how the stairs go to the top floor — I haven’t seen the top floor in like a decade.
Yes, Heather, right. It’s really a nice little place. And actually, probably literally enough room for us. Just feels a little tight .. . like the stairs, for instance. I really like how they did the kitchen. And, yes, the backyard is great.
Oh, and the building across the street is much less dominating that it appears on streetview.
Nomi, if you made it a one-family and built an extension into the backyard… but, yeah, it’s a workingman’s cottage kind of deal. With a really huge backyard and a great (if you like Park Slope) location. Then again, you couldn’t get that kind of outdoor space for the price with a condo or coop… On the bright side for it, it doesn’t actually “need” a ton of work done to it. The basics are all there.
Went to the 15th Street house. Not a lot of original detail, true, but sweet and love put into it. But small. Too small probably even for me. Would want a few more feet.

I think I am actually going to a couple of these open houses. Only one is an almost possibility for me, but . . . that’s why they call them open houses, right?
