House of the Day: 105 St. Marks Avenue
For a house that is described in the listing as “flawless and gracious,” 105 St. Marks Avenue could do with some more photos. (Update: When we wrote this up on Friday there were only four small photos. They’ve got a lot more up now!) Sure, the three interior shots provided look nice, but for all…

(Update: When we wrote this up on Friday there were only four small photos. They’ve got a lot more up now!) Sure, the three interior shots provided look nice, but for all we know the rest of the house could be a warren of small rooms with dropped ceilings and recessed lighting! Seriously though, show us your stuff, especially when you are asking $2,500,000 for a house in Prospect Heights, a bold move in this market. We’re not saying this couldn’t be a $2,500,000 house, but we need a little more convincing.

Glad to hear you guys liked Bogota. They’ve managed to maintain a very high quality of food and service for several years now.
Ha! Pigeon, you would. There is little love for pigeons in NYC.
I never said the house was worth 2.5 million Maly, but I’m able to separate the beauty of the house from the price and still think it’s nice.
I’m sure it’s not a 2.5 million dollar house. But if this were listed for 1.5 million, people would be singing a different tune. I’m just compartmentalizing, that’s all.
I see the glass as being half filled with poison.
Kens mentioned that earlier, somewhere CGar. I’m glad you guys enjoyed it…Bogota is one of those places where you always know it’s going to be good no matter what. Plus I think they are gay owned and operated.
AND, this is from their website:
“A specific donation budget is allocated monthly and is used to support organizations that focus their efforts on Latino Culture/Immigrant, LGBT, Entrepreneur & Hunger issues.”
Great food, great business in general.
There’s optimistic and there’s beer-goggled. This is not and has never been a 2.5M house, to pretend otherwise is not being positive, it’s aiding and abetting the shinification.
“That’s why I like you. :)”
Awwww. Thanks. Now I’m blushing. BTW, Snappy and I had dinner with Kens at Bogota, and it was great.
Yes, I’ve noticed that you’re definitely a glass half full kinda guy, CGar. That’s why I like you. 🙂
I enjoy the snark and sarcasm as much as the next guy, but when it seems to move over to simple negativity just for the sake of being negative, that’s when I start to take issue. Our whole society has become so frackin’ negative, in my opinion.
Or for 2.5 million you can buy this 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment on the Upper West Side with $3,000 a month maintenance.

Looks nice, but the value in moving to Brooklyn still seems unbeatable for those in the market at this price level…
