House of the Day: 105 St. Marks Avenue
For a house that is described in the listing as “flawless and gracious,” 105 St. Marks Avenue could do with some more photos. (Update: When we wrote this up on Friday there were only four small photos. They’ve got a lot more up now!) Sure, the three interior shots provided look nice, but for all…

(Update: When we wrote this up on Friday there were only four small photos. They’ve got a lot more up now!) Sure, the three interior shots provided look nice, but for all we know the rest of the house could be a warren of small rooms with dropped ceilings and recessed lighting! Seriously though, show us your stuff, especially when you are asking $2,500,000 for a house in Prospect Heights, a bold move in this market. We’re not saying this couldn’t be a $2,500,000 house, but we need a little more convincing.

“You have to admit though…more and more posters here seem to LOVE saying something negative about whatever crosses their path.”
I tend to be “glass half full”, 11217, and like a lot more HOTDs and COTDs than not, but this one just doesn’t do it for me.
Glad to see you came to your senses and conceded defeat, 11217.
Some of these comments were ridiculous today.
“Fine, I concede.
This place should be leveled.
I wish PH didn’t organize a landmark area so we could tear down this puppy and put some tan brick up in here!”
ROFL, 11217
According to the Daily News, Elin Nordegren’s new place in Sweden cost 2.3 million. Evidently it is on a secluded island that is ice-locked in winter and the house has no running water. Again, location, location, location. 🙂
even i, the unreformed *perma-bull*/*realtor-shill*/[insert favorite insult here], finds this price laughable.
at the right price this house would draw drools from brownies. at the wrong price, … (see above).
there needs to be another category for the widget: a prediction that a contract/close will not be achieved not because the home is not lovely but because the gulf between seller expectations and reality is wider than the distance between brooklyn and maplewood.
I wonder if the cock loft has been insulated?
This is a 2.5 million house if there is about $700-800k in cash in the basement that comes with the deal.
Fine, I concede.
This place should be leveled.
I wish PH didn’t organize a landmark area so we could tear down this puppy and put some tan brick up in here!
Nomi…I don’t think you’re a frownstoner, I mostly just like saying it.
You have to admit though…more and more posters here seem to LOVE saying something negative about whatever crosses their path. I mean, really. It’s amazing to me how many of the commenters on this blog are “glass half empty” kinda folks. Sue me for being optimistic about the place I call home and love.
“They have done themselves a diservice asking 2.5 million for this. I don’t think it is even close.”
I agree with Minard, Miss Muffett, and Maly, on price and the Playboy look.
