House of the Day: 179 Adelphi Street
$1,650,000 isn’t a very high price for a four-story house in Fort Greene, so we’re not particularly optimistic about what this four-family at 179 Adelphi Street must look like on the inside. (The lack of photos ain’t helping either.) The listing does cite the existence of original details though, so maybe it’s not so bad….

Hey brooklynnative. You’ve got great taste. Andreas Scholl is terrific…here is his upcoming schedule…

He’ll be back in the U.S. again in December…
They aren’t building any new ones, and some are getting knocked down. So inventory is falling.
“sometimes it seems like every brownstone is getting snapped up by somebody in the opera industry.”
Haha. True enough. But I do have at least 4 or 5 colleagues (some are managers for dance companies and two manage classical musicians) all own brownstones in Park Slope. We are rare, but not as rare as you might think…
2:19 this is a NYC phenomonon.I can get the same house in philly, for under 200k.
“anybody have anything to say about the house?”
What more is there to be said about the house – it has no interior pics, no floorplan, no info on the status of the tenants. Should we just continure arguing whether this house, for which we know nothing about, is overpriced?
“5% of households in NYC are at $390,00 or above.”
Pre-recession numbers. Is brownstone inventory rising or dropping since July 2007?
anybody have anything to say about the house?
Yo opera man.
I’m slowly starting to appreciate classical music. I particularly like Andreas Scholl. Do you have any idea whether he ever performs in NYC?
Amazing voice. thx.
Friday night’s Prospect Park performance is free, 2:23! You can go hear two of the best opera singers in the world.
