$1,650,000 isn’t a very high price for a four-story house in Fort Greene, so we’re not particularly optimistic about what this four-family at 179 Adelphi Street must look like on the inside. (The lack of photos ain’t helping either.) The listing does cite the existence of original details though, so maybe it’s not so bad. Has anyone been inside?

  1. 2:41 …and the boring couple will know that they are boring and they wont mind. Once in a while they may even walk down the street and pick up some rubbish that may blow in front of their house. The male may even sneak a wacky backy somewhere in the back yard … if he is feeling really wild.

  2. 2:27..yes. Eventually a boring couple will buy it and think their getting a great deal….They’ll sit on their stoop in loafers and cargo shorts they both had since college and discuss how early they should wake up for their drive to the Poconos.

  3. “They aren’t building any new ones”

Actually, a few new ones have gone up – a row of them went up on State around Hoyt a couple of years back and sold out very quickly, a few new green version types are going up in Bed Stuy, and you get the occasional ones built on empty lots like on 2nd between 6 and 7 in the Slope. I always think developers could make a nice profit building new ones and be proud of their product. It’s a shame more don’t try it.
