Co-op of the Day: 145 Hicks Street, #A38
You gotta love the front courtyard of the Mansion House, the 107-unit co-op at 145 Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights. The interior of this one-bedroom in the building is not as impressive, but it has some understated prewar charm. (Just don’t look at the kitchen.) The layout is nice, too, with a good-sized bedroom and ample closet space. The monthly maintenance of $770 is quite reasonable for 800 square feet in a doorman building. Not so sure about the asking price of $545,000. Waddya think?

*rob*, I don’t think the kitchen plumbing is the issue. Cause the bathroom isn’t raised. And toilet waste pipe is larger than kitchen sink waste and needs to be pitched.
btw – I’ve seen raised bathrooms…ugh.
I think it was done more for ‘aesthetic’.
Beautiful turn-key apartment. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a huge bidding war for this gem.
now i seriously DO keep reading it as the Montana House

Some ditz just posted a comment about this apartment in the OT.
I also like the Mansion House, I have several friends who live there. This block or two of Hicks St. is uberprime Heights.
sometimes they will raise a kitchen because they have plumbing pipes that go thru the floor.

LOL, BD
Why do they do that?

It’s very “Dick VanDyke Show” 1960s
it looks like the same apt in the same run-down condition 3 floors higher closed recently for 560,000. maybe their ask is not too far off
