Coming off a stress-reducing Thanksgiving break, we’re back to look at four of our featured listings from six months ago, focused on homes in Ditmas Park, Kensington, Park Slope and Flatbush. How did they fare?

First up this week, located in an Art Deco building in Ditmas Park, is a one-bedroom co-op unit with appealing vintage styling and a bonus room that could make for a fine home office or second bedroom. The last few owners have renovated the unit, but it has retained some of its Art Deco flair and the original layout. As expected for a building of this vintage, the rooms are arranged around a foyer. No vintage built-ins here, but there is a closet. Arched doorways lead from the foyer to the living room and kitchen. Most of the wall was removed between the living room and kitchen to open up the space, but the shape of the original arch was mimicked in the enlarged opening. The living room was subdivided to create the bonus room. This former Co-op of the Day sold in October for $592,000, which was $7,000 above the initial asking price.

Next, we have a condo with a clean-lined reno that manages to squeeze in a new home office and keep original features like moldings, a mantel and wood floors intact. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit is located on the third floor of a building a short distance from Grand Army Plaza in Park Slope. The recent update of this floor-through unit included some minor tweaks to the floor plan, added custom built-ins and introduced an almost all-white color palette to the new kitchen and baths. The apartment is set up with the living spaces at the front and bedrooms at the rear. The living room has windows in an angled bay and, while it may not appeal during warm weather, there’s a wood-burning fireplace for the cold weather months. It’s got a wood mantel, new black tile surround and built-in shelves on either side. This former Condo of the Day sold in August for $1.36 million, which was $110,000 above the asking price.

If original, unpainted woodwork is your weakness, this early 20th century signle-family limestone in Kensington is dripping with it, from the pier mirror in the entry to the coffered ceiling in the dining room. The classical details continue on the interior, including Ionic columns ornamenting the entry, a pier mirror in the front parlor, and a screen between the front and middle parlors. There are picture rail moldings as well as period wall moldings. Parquet floors with an inlay border and stained glass windows ornament the front parlor and the dining room beyond. More woodwork can be found in the latter, where the walls have high wood wainscoting with a plate rail and the ceiling is coffered. This former House of the Day entered contract in September.

Last up this week, we have a single-family Colonial Revival house located in the Fiske Terrace-Midwood Park Historic District. The Colonial Revival style continues on the interior, along with some Arts and Crafts touches. There’s a wainscotted foyer lit with stained glass windows and a staircase with original newel posts. A large chunk of the first floor is taken up with a grand parlor that has an Ionic-columned wood mantel and original tile work, wood floors with an inlay border and a bay window. The woodwork in the formal dining room has been painted mossy green, including the coffered ceiling and wainscoting, and the walls adorned with Compton wallpaper from Morris & Co., originally designed in 1895. The dining room has another fireplace with a wood mantel and tile work; the listing doesn’t mention if either of the fireplaces is in working order. This former House of the Day sold in October for $2.36 million, which was $90,000 below the initial asking price.
