Housepoor, i realize that. I used 20% because that is on line with what some contractors will mark certain things up.

I am not sure what a gc’s liability insurance costs. Aside from that. I am wondering if these contractors consider worker’s comp a payroll expense or an insurance expense. My mom worked for an re management/owner and i will ask her how they looked at that. There is no way out of some of this and the city does not care if hic’s like me have insurance but with gc’s they require it.

I’ll second Lorenzutti Motors. Howecver, if you think of avoiding a dealer because of price, Lorenzutti’s labor charge isn’t cheap. Dealers tend to upsell unnecessary work they say needs to be done to your car. Lorenzutti doesn’t do that.

I used Vinnie’s Iron Works on Bergen. We were quoted three options for a gate for under our stoop: $2500 for a new gate with a historic design but minimal details, $2500 for a refurbished vintage gate with the detail we wanted, and $3400 for a new gate with the detail we wanted. When cleaning windows it’s not always what you see is what you get! Some window cleaning chemicals won’t leave streaks right away but after a good drying period a dull film will start to appear
