Brooklyn burger lovers rejoice: Shake Shack has finally decided to shack up in our borough. The Daily News reported yesterday the popular burger and shake joint will be in the Fulton Mall next year. While it would have been cool to see them in the old Gage and Tollner spot, the restaurant will be moving into Tony’s Famous Pizza at the corner of Fulton and Adams, right outside of the Jay Street subway. Seems like a fail-proof location to us. Shake Shack is just the latest of new arrivals to the Fulton Mall; Filene’s, SYMS, H&M and Aeropostal are also on the roster. Think Fulton Mall could be Brooklyn’s next destination spot?

Shake Shack Cometh! [Curbed] GMAP
Mayo on french fries is divine. I also love them with spicy mustard.
DIBS, my parents and spouse (and in-laws) are all from Quebec. The French Canadian love for good smoked meat, poutine and mayo on french fries is in my genes.
Sorry- bad call on the Shake Shack opening before the others; but yes, it’s Danny Meyer Inc that has revitalized the area.
@dh- your comments about SS are as transparently envy-filled as those commenters who rag on the burg for being filled with over-entitled hipsters. We’re all excited about new things happening in our respective neighborhoods. So stop being so selfish and be happy for someone once in a while!

“I wish more places had vinegar for the fries.”
YES. And mayo too!
Clearly the INS needs to step up its deportation activity.
Shake Shack is for gullible tourists and trend-sucking residents who are dumb enough to wait in line for food that is generally available elsewhere because they consider it “cool.” Which is OK if that’s what you’re into.

“but doesn’t the line signify that it’s a popular place?”
Ever heard of Yogi berra????
“Why is there so much judgment about what people want to buy?”
This is brownstoner, DUH.
11217 – If I’m not mistaken, the pickles served at Mile End are from Brooklyn Brine, and you can buy them at various stores around the borough. (I found them recently at Perelandra on Remsen, but there’s a full list on their website.)
A salad with a burger???
It should be a law that you have a burger with FRIES and a chocolate milkshake.
I wish more places had vinegar for the fries.
