Brooklyn burger lovers rejoice: Shake Shack has finally decided to shack up in our borough. The Daily News reported yesterday the popular burger and shake joint will be in the Fulton Mall next year. While it would have been cool to see them in the old Gage and Tollner spot, the restaurant will be moving into Tony’s Famous Pizza at the corner of Fulton and Adams, right outside of the Jay Street subway. Seems like a fail-proof location to us. Shake Shack is just the latest of new arrivals to the Fulton Mall; Filene’s, SYMS, H&M and Aeropostal are also on the roster. Think Fulton Mall could be Brooklyn’s next destination spot?

Fulton Mall is NOT brownstone brooklyn!
this is great!
agreed, does sound absolutely snobby asking if will be a ‘destination’. A place that is something like the 3rd busiest retail area in NYC is a big destination now and has been for longer than all of us have been alive.
“brownstone brooklyn becoming more like the upper west side every day”
I’d be OK with that, if it could also be less crowded.

Most overrated burger ever, makes me long for Tommy’s or In-n-Out. And the “type” that they probably want to cater to is people who’ll stand in line to pay for their food.
It’s a destination spot for some of us already. Please, just try to be a little less of an effete snob?
brownstone brooklyn becoming more like the upper west side every day… enjoy!
shake shack has some kind of odd mystical appeal for yuppies i’ve noticed. yes quite odd. if a wendy’s was opening up it would be panic on msn!

A fast food burger chain is not the Second Coming. I don’t remember the reaction being so hyped for the Arby’s.
