Brooklyn burger lovers rejoice: Shake Shack has finally decided to shack up in our borough. The Daily News reported yesterday the popular burger and shake joint will be in the Fulton Mall next year. While it would have been cool to see them in the old Gage and Tollner spot, the restaurant will be moving into Tony’s Famous Pizza at the corner of Fulton and Adams, right outside of the Jay Street subway. Seems like a fail-proof location to us. Shake Shack is just the latest of new arrivals to the Fulton Mall; Filene’s, SYMS, H&M and Aeropostal are also on the roster. Think Fulton Mall could be Brooklyn’s next destination spot?

  1. Fulton Mall isn’t a “destination”, it’s a shopping district. Even with all the stores that people like to rag on, it’s not a failure. It just doesn’t have any appeal to the people who post on here about it.

  2. I don’t mean to poo poo this at all. I think it’s great news and I’ll definitely try it. But I won’t line up for 1 hour or more to get it. Not with Five Guys around the corner from me. Most people who have tried both seem to think Five Guys is as good, if not better.

  3. HELL yeah… I never even ate at the one in Manhattan, but it’s nice to see the Fulton Mall area stepping up its game like this… Every time I walk up Willoughby towards Adams, I fantasize about how nice it’s going to be in like 20 years…

  4. There are many places across the US and around the world that are “destinations.” Think resorts in Cancun, the Amalfi Coast, etc, etc, etc. Fulton Mall is a far cry from a “destination” IMHO.

  5. All you posters are complete idiots. Aren’t half of you going to Johnny Rocket’s for lunch today?

This is unqualified good news. I work in the area and Shake Shack has delicious burgers. My office is going to go there for lunch when the occasion arises.
