Brooklyn burger lovers rejoice: Shake Shack has finally decided to shack up in our borough. The Daily News reported yesterday the popular burger and shake joint will be in the Fulton Mall next year. While it would have been cool to see them in the old Gage and Tollner spot, the restaurant will be moving into Tony’s Famous Pizza at the corner of Fulton and Adams, right outside of the Jay Street subway. Seems like a fail-proof location to us. Shake Shack is just the latest of new arrivals to the Fulton Mall; Filene’s, SYMS, H&M and Aeropostal are also on the roster. Think Fulton Mall could be Brooklyn’s next destination spot?

Can’t believe no one has asked whether they’ll have a camera online to judge the size of the line.
All I care about is when the B38 DeKalb Ave. bus will go back to it’s regular route, instead of these inSANE hairpin turns on St. Felix to Fulton and Flatbush to Nevins.
I am all for H&M right next to Conway’s – their clothes are about identical, except it’s easier to get clothes for people over a size 4 in Conway’s and H&M doesn’t have Xmas toys. Let’s see who wins.
retail diversity & density is great – for here or anywhere else. never been to this place before so will check it out when opened.
“Out with the trash”
oh no he didn’t just say that!?
Peteinbklyn, Shake Shack is a gentleman’s club. That’s why the uproar. Because it’s opening in Brownstone Brooklyn.
Step by step the tide is turning. It wont be long now until Brooklyn finally has a downtown to be proud of. Out with the trash and lets rejoice as the Fulton Mall regains its former glory!
great that place is going to open. Nobody is against that.
(of course, I really don’t know what Shake Shack is).
Shake Shack completely revitalized the previously sketchy Madison Square Park. Since its opening, the Flatiron area has become a real foodie mecca. I’ll never understand why some people (especially in NYC- a city that never stands still) want to keep the status quo where it is. This isn’t the Meatpacking district and it’s not some trashy club. It’s affordable, but well prepared food that all walks of life come to enjoy. It celebrates the outdoors and the open air mall is perfect for it. I don’t see anyone complaining about Café Habana.
It’s also a company that is generous to its workers and would provide some locals with a decent job. And it’s not a fast food franchise like Wendy’s or McDonalds. Or like some of these commenters beloved Five Guys—which IS a franchise.
so anyway, are the burgers actually good?
