Brooklyn burger lovers rejoice: Shake Shack has finally decided to shack up in our borough. The Daily News reported yesterday the popular burger and shake joint will be in the Fulton Mall next year. While it would have been cool to see them in the old Gage and Tollner spot, the restaurant will be moving into Tony’s Famous Pizza at the corner of Fulton and Adams, right outside of the Jay Street subway. Seems like a fail-proof location to us. Shake Shack is just the latest of new arrivals to the Fulton Mall; Filene’s, SYMS, H&M and Aeropostal are also on the roster. Think Fulton Mall could be Brooklyn’s next destination spot?

“…which could accomodate some chains Brooklyners would love having there, like Bed and Bath, Container Store, a Gap/Gap Kids, CB2/Crate and Barrel, etc….”
Was this sarcasm?
Are the chain branches of these establishments in Manhattan so overrun that we need new branches on Fulton Mall? When you go to the Gap on 34th street, do you have to wait in LINE?
Oh, by the way, I also never wait in line, which is why I’ve never Red Hook vendor food at the Flea. Thankfully, there’s never a line for lobster rolls, at least when we go.

IJ- I hope your advice follows her to the keyboard 🙂
I’ve heard that too, jester. Excuse me while I get away from this thread and try to find some wealth. 🙂
I don’t think the goodburger fries are all that great. The shakes are really good, as are the burgers. it’s not a destination, just the closest decent burger place to my office.
Montrose, I hear book advances are a form of wealth.
NYGuy7,
A non-chain using fresh ingredients, prepared as you wait, that is the appeal to me. Comfort food but not excessive about it.
“Strangely the only time I have eaten a Shake Shack burger was at a Mets game. Was in the good seats and had somebody bring it to my seat.”
Me too, wasder. My sister-in-law got great tickets from her firm’s clients. I didn’t realize the burger was Shake Shack. It was good, as were the fries. Not having to go get it was even better. Wealth certainly does have its perks.
“if the line @ Mad. Sq. is insufferably long and you still want a burger, cross Park Ave and go to the In ‘n Out knock off on 23rd street called Fast ‘N Fresh — or something like that”
I’ve never been to Goodburger, but people I know in the Madison Square Park area say they too have great burgers, if one doesn’t have the time or patience to go to SS.
