We always had leg of lamb with mint jelly – not mint sauce!
Recently, BH told me that he grew up with mint sauce – a vinegary mint leaf thing. We did a taste test with lamb chops. Mint sauce – pretty good! Mint jelly – seemed to overwhelm.
I don’t like mint jelly either, but that is neither here nor there, it’s TRADITION!
A nice rasted leg o’mutton with a side of mashed potatoes and carrots, and of course, mint jelly, is the traditional easter sunday repast chez moi.
My mom is such a good cook (don’t tell my wife I said that).
When I was in high school, my mom used to make eggplant parmigiana sandwiches for me. For some reason, I don’t like EP. Fear not, however, the food did not go to waste. My mom’s EP was so famous, I used to auction them off to others at school.

What the heck is mint jelly?
Our table on Easter will have ethnic food on it….just like Thanksgiving.
Well, I’m cooking ham this year.

I grew up Christian and we NEVER had ham, ever. My mother hated it and never made it.
We usually have lamb.
I’ve done both ham and lamb. I don’t like the mint jelly.
Sam – are you a brit?
