If you had a choice of a wonderful restaurant, sort of intimate, quiet, pretty, i.e. not a bunch of business men eating steaks, maybe French food, Asian fusion, Italian somewhere in Manahattan, south of midtown, where would you go? I was asked where I want to go but I don’t know really. The only criteria — for him — is that it is not Indian food. For me, I would like a quiet pretty place where you can talk WITHOUT wait staff trained to break into your conversation mid-sentence. And not super $$$$$$ because it feels like it would be sort of bad manners to suggest that.
There’s a French place on Lexington near 30th or 33rd St. that was very quiet when I took my sister there once. West side of the street as I recall.
