Gem, I guess I just wanted to make the point that after WWII, US had enough power and money to export itself everywhere and that shaped the world’s taste for culture.
I have a strong dislike of Tom DeLay from when I lived in Houston.
He used his power to actively fight against transit funding for Houston, while voting for transit projects for the rest of the nation.
Yesterday as I was taking my decorations down, I noticed that the wreath was missing and has probably been so for some time now. I’m not sure if someone stole it or the wind blew it off in one of the storms. I know it was gone the day we had the neavy snow, now that I remember.
Thanks, dh. It can be kind of expensive I guess. But it is important that the service is good and that you can talk in there. Thanks jester. I am going to look at that.
I can’t believe it took this long to bring this DeLay business to a close.
Dona – if you can get a rez, Little Owl is nice.
Savoy in Soho on Prince and Crosby is also good.
also – the frankies of court street have a manhattan offshoot of their sputino resto on Clinton St in the LES.
Blue Hill in the WV is always a good bet (but sorta romantic)
i’m really out of the loop as far as new stuff in manhattan goes :-\
oh – ABC Kitchen in the ABC Home store is supposed to be good too (it’s a jean georges place)

Tom DeLay got 3 years in prison, plus 5 years probation.
“I am serious about the restaurant. DH? You are a gourmand. ”

i’m gonna go have a smoke and give it some thought – the ‘quiet’ and not super expensive are throwing me for a loop!!
