yes, yes LV is a good one.

the service at A Voce is DAMN good. The only problem is that it is a HUGE dining space, so it always seems to be half empty. not a problem for some though.

  3. “i always have a great time at that place A Voce”

I concur with DH on this. Had a great meal here not long ago.

Also, one of their chefs left last year (or so) and opened a restaurant in TriBeCa, which I hear is also great: Locanda Verde.

  4. Gem, no. That is not what I am saying. I am saying that the US after WWII was powerful, super rich, a winner, and was in a position to be everywhere, market everywhere, and shape tastes. Maybe in 25 years, China will be more “out there” in the world cultural marketplace and people will develop a taste for Chinese opera, among other things.

    Thanks, Dh.

Gem, I guess I just wanted to make the point that after WWII, US had enough power and money to export itself everywhere and that shaped the world’s taste for culture.

wow, I totally disagree with that statement
so are you saying that only countries that have $ at any given time are able to get their art exported and therefore loved and sold in great numbers?????????????????????????????????????????
