Biff, I went to a casino in Montreal with my gambling junkie option trading French Canadian eoncomist colleague friend. She was running around like a lunatic (this is how she got her start on the floor trading options, running around playing games of chance). I was tired though and I hate casinos so we left.
“And to date we still don’t have bin Laden.2Towers down, the pentagon, the plane in PA, all the dead, all the grief, all the lives lost in a false war- a much less safe world- that’s what going into Iraq accomplished.”
bxgrl,
Intelligence analysts will tell you that Iraq, was a magnet for jihaadists during the last 7 years. Say what you will, it started as a war againt Saddam but ended with the severe dimunition of al quaeda’s capacity to wage war against us.
In addition, Iran has felt those consequences of it’s loss in that proxy war that I mentioned.
This tale is far from over which is why I find it amusing that you and arkady and biff should be writing the epitaph on this chapter before its true outcome is known.
The war continues, unfortunately around the globe.
I noticed nobody acknowledged my mention of the 41 Christians bombed in a church in Alexandria on Christmas.
It has much to do with all that we’ve been discussing.
Iraq is one facet of a much larger picture.
“Good job identifying the obvious – now what’s the solution, Marx?”
I always said Groucho would have been a great President.

“liungerie”
ugh! what’s with the ‘u’? don’t tell me you’re Canadian or English?
ET, I don’t know what a womna is but I’m sure if I saw one it would be more appealling if it was wearing high heels and liungerie than otherwise.
put me in the ‘Iraq was a wrong move’ category.
I just refuse to spend time debating it with [insert a not-so-nice-adjective] people.
“But Americans have elected governments that have tortured maimed and terrorized literally millions of citizens of other countries.”
Yeah, and? Good job identifying the obvious – now what’s the solution, Marx?
“But we haven’t elected a government which tortures, maims or terrorizes its citizens.”
But Americans have elected governments that have tortured maimed and terrorized literally millions of citizens of other countries.
Ok, I think I’m ready for a topic change.
Casinos, anyone?
I see I haven’t missed much.
