hey cobble, not sure what the point is of an allergist but no shots! Or maybe you’re not terrible.
I’ve been having then since I was a kid, but didn’t realize what they were until later… I always thought they were just some kind of bad cold and of course my parents weren’t about to take me to the doctor.
For I while back in the day I would take Allerest which worked when I was sleeping which was pretty much all the time after taking it. Then the first of the non-sleepy drugs came out, Seldane. Finally I went to an allergist who recommended shots and I started them and they were great. But I didn’t like the doc, he was an old geezer who was always on the phone with his broker and was always mixing up my meds (I had to keep an eye on him). Plus he would never give me a straight answer as to when or if I could stop. So after a few years I stopped to see what would happen.
Gradually over years my symptoms came back and treated with Claritrin and other non-drowsy drugs. But about five years ago I was walking up 5th Avenue with Mrs. D carrying some groceries, and when I hit a slight incline I realized I could hardly breathe. So back to another allergist for shots.
This guy saw me for a coupla years then he had a fall and I had to go elsewhere, oddly enuf to the son of the old geezer. This doc asked me if my nose felt stuffy. Well, I guess it did, never noticed that I always breathe thru my mouth because of it. So he has me doing the shots as well as a nasal spray and life is beautiful!
So – I am officially as of next week one of those people waiting on Congress to extend the Unemployment benefits – so let’s hope I get a temp job this week
I was in a poor neighborhood this morning,
just to illustrate my point about it being
like a reality show.
I was in a cheapo store because they sell
socks for like $3dollars for a six pack.
Anyway, there’s Christmas music playing and
the store is not too full because it’s early.
Maybe 12 customers and staff.
I noticed a guy with his two sons,
not sure why the kids weren’t in school,
ages about 9 and 12.
I’m walking near the front when I hear a
woman start crying and moaning.
I didn’t think much at first since it seemed
to blend in with the Holiday music for some reason.
Then it continued and got louder.
I looked back to see a small crowd of people gathering
around someone on the floor and calling for the manager.
The moaning and crying got louder so I walked over to
see what the hell was going on.
There’s an old woman lying face down on the floor with some
blood on her right hand.
The father of the two boys is helping her,
so I joined in and got her a chair.
Putting my professional hat on, I noticed that she
hadn’t lost conciousness but had a sizeable gash on her forehead. Not too bad but would need a couple of stitches as it was through the dermis.
I told her to sit back and calm down in Spanish.
The store clerks got a towel and I instructed them to place pressure on her forehead and to get some ice.
The manager called 911 and I told her to relax which she
seemed to be doing after 5 minutes had passed.
I noticed the guy with the two boys was still hanging around and angry at one of the two boys for some reason.
I asked the woman what happened and she started to say that one of the boys had deliberately put his foot out to trip her.
She was crying for her son who was somewhere outside the store.
The woman was ok and had no serious injuries and her son finally came in to the store looking for her. I knew it was him because he was looking for someone.
I motioned for him to come over and told him she had taken a fall.
He started asking her what happened in Spanish and she started to tell her story about the boys tripping her.
At that point the ambulance had arrived and I wasn’t planning to stick around to hear the two families hash this one out.

It’s funny that so many liberals here drive to Long Island to shop. WTF!
I believe they are all visiting family on LI. That’s the only reason I go–I hate LI. Grew up there and would not raise my daughter there!
We didn’t have a car for many years and always took the train. Now that I drive, I’m always thinking that I should take advantage of cheap shopping opportunities as long as I’m there.
HOLY JESUS!
here comes the rain in PARK SLOPE

My last pair of glasses, the ones most of you first met me in, were from Walmart.

M4L- if I had money I’d be putting it into AMD stocks. Their new fusion chip may be the turning point in their longstanding rivalry with Intel.
