  1. ha ha donna, yes!! those led lights ARE just like a christmas yak!

and lech to counteract your good things of living in a poor neighborhood ( i agree with your list)

    ha lech!

Things Great about living in a wealthy neighborhood: (these are just general and can apply to various people)

You can make fun of people to their faces and not get beaten up
They throw out amaazing stuff and have kick ass stoop sales and put lots of good stuff out for free
Friends and family dont worry so much about your safety so they dont call as much
Less chances of being a victim of a crime, except for random abduction and financial swindling
For the most part people are prettier (i dont agree with this one tho)
Less chance of running into dogs off the leash
Less change of stepping in dogshit
Less chance of your dog choking on the food discards on the sidewalk
People are more likely to come and visit (but they will usually stay too long)

  2. Dibs is our very own DOPPLER RADAR!

I used to get allergy shots as a kid – agreed they helped a lot

DH- yes but tsk tsk, most juicy coutoure wearing jumpsuits are south shore moms with teen daughters. come on now!

  3. “I find that people in this country like to speak for the “poor”.
This in itself is a patronizing attitude for it assumes that people aren’t perfectly happy in their circumstances.”

Indeed, legion. Very true. As one of the poor I’ll say what makes their attitudes so patronizing is that they assume they know so much better about how others should live. It’s extremely tough being poor and trying to find work.

Does anyone really have a solution for those of us sending out hundreds of resumes and never even getting a callback? I love how people like rob will bitch about how he thinks women get more than he does, and how he is struggling. But would he change his lifestyle to save money? Hell no. Would he stop smoking and drinking his salary away? Hell no- he’d rather blame his “poverty” on how well he takes care of his dog.

Yes- you can live on minimum wage- I don’t see the lot of you quitting your jobs to take one a walmart. Or MacD’s. *crickets* Hmm….I guess it’s ok for OTHER people to live on minimum wage, just not all of you. And for the record, I grew up poor/lower middle class (since it seems some folk want to make it all about class.) And there were times I was rich. I never look down my nose at anyone- it pays to remember, “there but for fortune.”

“I’ll tell you, everyone wants to live like Paris Hilton or
some other entitled jackass without accountability or grounding.”

Right again, legion. Plenty of them posting on the OT today.

the only place to wear those pricey clothes on LI is the fancy mall.

yeah, pretty much. or to the mediocre restaurants that everyone gets dressed to the nines to go to.

  5. m4l, funny you should say that about INTC and NVDA…from bloomberg…

“Intel Corp. and Nvidia Corp. are in talks aimed at settling a legal dispute over the use of each other’s technology, two people familiar with the matter said.

The people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private, wouldn’t outline settlement terms.

Nvidia, a maker of graphics chips, accused its larger rival in March 2009 of breaching a contract that let the companies use each other’s capabilities. A month earlier, Intel had asked a judge to say the cross-licensing agreement between the two companies was no longer valid. “

  6. preanon,

for marriage material or date long term, I like a girl to be more wholesome vs. just a drop dead gorgeous girl. that said, I only found 1 of them to come across with that bubbly wholesome feel I like.

Cobble hill is my fav bk hood but I cant afford it – cant even afford to rent there
