I agree Bxgrl – I think Rand Paul is a bit of a loose cannon
but I am thrilled that Sharon Angle didn’t win- now she was really a crackpot!!!
OH and Christine O’Donnell’s concession speech was so confusing – the first 2-3 mins of watching it you would have thought she won as she kept saying “we won”
“My (marginal)tax rate used to be higher than 50%.
Of course, just about everyone’s was in the 70’s, etc.
Was it so awful?”
Considering NYC housing prices back then – no it wasn’t.
My friend’s parents (they were both public teachers, now retired) have an excellent apartment on CPW that they bought in the 70’s on their city salaries. They told me the people selling it virtually gave it away they were so desparate to get out. Was it really that bad?
Rand Paul said some interesting things yesterday- especially about challenging McConnell. I think he will go his own way, be very independent. That could bode good or bad. He’s a loose cannon.
“those earning more than $250k, which is practically EVERY small business owner in the US.”
Personally or corporately? Most small business owners I know, including myself and 98% of the people I deal with, who are individual owners, or have one employee, don’t come anywhere near that. I wish. Gross or personally. Especially personally.
Pete, you have lots of leeway with me right now, as I’m still laughing at your Forum post. Not sure which is funnier, the posts from PLUSAs who knew it was about me, or the posts from people who took you seriously.
“I voice strong opposition to Sarah Palin for the same reason that I do against Hasidic Jews – I don’t want people to think I’m like her/them. . . . It’s the same way that as a cultural Jew I don’t want people to think I’m anything like the Hassids.”
jessi, I agree with you 1000%. That’s exactly how I feel.

And also agree abut the Hasids. They don’t define Judaism but unfortunately get the most attention.

About the Hasids that is, in case it wasn’t obvious, not about Sarah Palin.
Agreed re Palin and her ilk, Jessi!!!

Montrose Morris’ Walkabout: Brooklyn’s Anti-Suffragists was quoted in Brooklyn Heights Blog yesterday.
