I look forward to seeing Daddy’s boy Andrew Cuomo, Sheldon Silver and the rest of the outstanding crew in Albany now tackle the impending bankruptcy of our state, without addressing the 800 pound guerilla in the room: the civil-service and healthcare workers’ unions that run Albany and the NYS democratic party.
ah donatella… in order to argue these things, you need a grasp of the technicalities. You are confusing semi-automatic with automatic.
It is virtually impossible to own a fully automatic firearm. Nor do the police use them or carry them. Fully automatic means you pull and hold the trigger, and a stream of bullets comes out. aka ‘machine gun’. Military use.
Individual police officers have a choice between semi-automatic pistols, and revolvers. Semi-auto means you have to pull the trigger each time you wish to fire the weapon, (the semi part) but the next bullet is automatically loaded. Still, you have to pull the trigger again to fire it.
It’s complicated, there are single action, double action, and so on in both revolvers and pistols.
But the main thing is there are NO AUTOMATIC weapons around.
Should citizens have the right to bear automatic weapons? Where do you draw the line? These weapons have upped the ante and have been used for terrible shootings, both by crazy civilian and the Amadu Dialo 50+ shot type incidents by the police, who have to have them — I guess to not be outarmed by criminals.
Walmart sells firearms.
Switzerland: 1971
U.S.: 1920
Hmm, Switzerland, and when did they give women the right to vote?
I think I should be able to buy automatic weapons at the bodega.

So, Benson, how about that Paladino?”
What about it? He lost. It’s NYS’ loss.

oh thanks, Denton for that lesson. You are right, I didn’t know the technicalities.
