Funny Old Thread, most of us are banned from BHB after a day of blog wilding there a few months ago, generally polite, and informative to BHB’s reader (singular), but Homer has no sense of humour.
“Personally or corporately? Most small business owners I know, including myself and 98% of the people I deal with, who are individual owners, or have one employee, don’t come anywhere near that. I wish. Gross or personally. Especially personally.”
This makes me wonder. Do owners of small businesses that gross more than 250K usually put themselves on salary or just keep the net?
Etson/Ditto – I think there was a recent NYT article on how the UWS was a blighted neighborhood for most of the 60’s and 70’s and we are talking the West 60’s on up

Upper West Side didn’t regentrify until the late 80’s -early 90’s from what I have heard, ditto.
Hear so many stories from the old timer folks at my Church, which is on the UWS. The blocks behind the Nat Hist museum had several big SRO’s and a couple of drug corners for example.

UWS had its seedier parts/blocks/bldgs, etc but always had major affluence too. Things became more homogeneous up there over time.
