  1. Sure it’s a constitutional right bxgrl, but at one point the US Supreme Court said racial segregation was no probs. There is a feedback loop and these things can change. If somehow the country ends up 90% pro life it’s just a matter of time before RvW gets reversed. Constitutional law is just national politics in slow motion.

As for the disastrous consequences – was the state of women’s rights disastrous before the decision came out (in the 70s, right)?

I’m haven’t revealed any personal views on abortion, just to be clear.

  2. ishtar,

    you are very reasonable. :o)

I never asked you if you are a fan
of Ishtar the movie with Warren Beatty and
    Dustin Hoffman.

side question, is Warren Beatty really
Shirley Mclain’s brother or is that
just a crossed wire in my brain?

The consequences of reversing Roe vs Wade or such a constitutional amendment would be far reaching and disastrous for women’s rights.

Not only that but the economy as well…c.f. Freakonomics.

  4. quote:
I’m chary of theis new intelligent and normal sounding rob. I get thrown off when he isn’t sounding puerile & jejeune.

i had an epiphone on the train the other day, coupled with a 2 hour conversation with my grandmother this weekend.. im like 96% not the same person i was a week ago.

    *rob*

  5. Lech- also remember that abortion is a constitutional right so opinions don’t matter much unless anti-choicers try to get the Supreme Court to reverse its decision, or they get a constitutional amendment. The consequences of reversing Roe vs Wade or such a constitutional amendment would be far reaching and disastrous for women’s rights.
