My brother and I had a huge conversation about Pit Bulls- he hates them, thinks they should be illegal. I think any dog that’s badly trained and/or abused is going to go Cujo on you sooner or later- some breeds may be more highstrung, but I agree with you rob. Pit bulls are more victimized.
totally. pitbulls became the pet du jour for hoodlums to train for dog fights. back in the 70s german shephards were the dog du jour for people do that with. obviously certain dogs are/were picked because of how loyal they are, so it’s much more easy to manipulate their behavior than say a poodle who could care less about anything other than the poof on their head.
saying a certain breed of dog is more prone to do something is as ignorant as saying that a person of a specific race is more prone to do something. it’s all about upbringing and respect for others and oneself, not their breed. there’s a huge organization on facebook about pits that is pretty great, i try to spread the word as much as i can.
I wonder if there is a way to minimize certain costs for small businesses on things like production materials and healthcare via something like cooperative purchasing.
peteb, gun issue very simple. should be allowed to bear what would be the standard militia weapons of today. AR15 and equivalent, .45 or 9mm handgun.”
One of my brothers has all of those up in VT. The AR-15 rules pretty hard. (it’s basically a street legal M-16 if you’re wondering). Super accurate, high rate of fire with very little kickback.
.45s are so much better than 9mms in so many ways, except of course you can get so many more rounds in a 9mm clip and the ammo doesn’t weigh as much (and it’s WAY cheaper, big deal these days, ammo is crazy expensive).
I like the .45 1911.
Of course all of that is just for fun. If you’re doing a home defense thing there is only one choice that really makes any sense at all: sawed off shotgun. You’ll never miss, and you’ll always stop the bad guy. Shoot a guy with a .22 pistol and chances are pretty good he’ll keep coming for you, only way more pissed off.
Oh, and BTW…Sunday is my birthday. I’ll be accepting gifts both before and after since I won’t be here this weekend. The House was a great gift so far.
dave- there is nothing nuanced in what you said. Stop being ridiculous. As for returning incumbents- I look at what each candidate is offering and something thing the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t.
rob- contact the Reclaimed Home Blog. They might be interested in your 70’s tv.
ishtar, re small biz, most small biz say from 3-25 employees are set up as sub-s corp so no double taxation of dividends. but froma practical pov, most maximize salary and zero out profits by end of year. Maybe take a small distribution if anything left. You can also maximize contributions to tax free pension plan easier that way. In small biz it’s not what you make it’s what you keep so also pass cars and entertainment thru as much as possible.

Thanks, denton, for the simple explanation.
I wonder if there is a way to minimize certain costs for small businesses on things like production materials and healthcare via something like cooperative purchasing.

Lech, most major surverys aren’t that reliable. Pew has a few surveys that put the numbers in the 50-60% range as pro-choice.

Why do asians not shave in porns while Americans do?
cuz if asians shaved as much as americans shaved in porn they would look like they are 9 years old.
