perdida – Different orthos specialize in different parts. Hosp. for Special Surgery is the place to start. I had neck surgery done there & it was amazing – but the ortho had passed me on to a neuro because of where the nerves were tied in. The docs evaluate which specialty suits you.
denton- a meritocracy doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Education is a tool for the future. Once you’re out and taking your place in society as an adult, that’s another story. But a meritocracy in school. We don’t let kids drink or vote before they’re 18, presumably because they are too immature, but we think they should be mature enough to know to sink or swim in the pre-college school system?
And I would so love to believe the cream rises to the top but I see plenty of evidence the dregs have also.

That’s NOT what this is Legion. They are not being stopped because of “legal infractions.” They are being stopped solely because the law allows police to question individuals about their immigration status if they have reason to suspect they are in the country illegally, and makes that a state crime.
It’s the “reason to suspect” that is constitutionally open for question. There is no evidence about infractions
Legion, there’s a HUGE difference between a body scan at an airport that EVERYONE goes through, and being picked out of a bunch of people walking down the street, stopped, and asked to show papers, because someone thinke he/she “looks” illegal.

Full disclosure – I’ve been to him for a consultation and am scheduled for surgery, so I can’t tell you how the operation went yet, but I really liked his style and he seems very experienced and knowledgable. And I gave my physiotherapist a list of three surgeons I was considering and she said she would recommend Dr. Rose based on the feedback from her patients on whom the surgeons had operated.

Perdida, my issue is also the hip (and by extension, no pun intended, the leg) so you’ve come to the right place.
