I didn’t say anything about who you had dinner with Benson. If they are in much less than 1% of the country that is angry about the legislation AND has even a rudimentary understanding of it, then good for them.
I didn’t say I agree with the legislation. I’m just raising the bullshit flag on the “anger”, which as I said is mostly just a dislike for liberalism and not a result of a reasoned consideration of the legislation.
CGar, and that’s the portion of the comment you’re questioning? am I correct to assume that means the 10 trays of brownies will be materializing at the gathering?
Benson–I am attempting not to make this a left v right thing. Most of the institutions you cite, for better or for worse, are aspects of our society that were created with popular support. Do I agree that the post office, AMTRAK and medicaid clinics suck? Yes I do. But I have been to lots of places where national train service is excellent, public healthcare is meaningful and effective, and the post offices are not hostile hellholes.
IF we are exceptional as a country we should be able to get these basic things done–and that is not Dem or Rep. That’s us as a nation.
