  1. I’ve had over 20 major surgeries – best nurses ever are at NYU-Langone – truly t.v.-show-type angels & excellent at what they do.
And for gov’t svc. I heartily endorse Medicare – better coverage than I had paying $1100. a month privately.
The polarization of the country comes from new communications – people haven’t yet assimilated the rushing flow of information – lots of it poor – that they are exposed to. Hang around a toxic environment – ranting talk radio, for example – & you inevitably pick up the emotional tenor.
Speaking of new communications, how does someone retweet the OT – aren’t tweets limited to 140 letters? Does the twit get a signal each time a new piece is posted? Wouldn’t that mean your phone is chirping pretty much non-stop?

  2. benson–i fear we are confirming each other’s points. You can’t seem to understand that there are special interests being cowtowed to on both sides and party leaders who are intentionally driving their counterparts from the other side away for the purpose of setting up failure. Intentional failure that makes the other side look bad. If you think this is a one way street I don’t know what to say to you.

This being said, I am glad we will be able to look back at a thread like this in November and actually gauge how this debate played out nationally.

  3. “Come November, these yahoos will have something to say.”

Sigh. So true. The only real function served by elections is making sure the same people don’t stay in office for long enough to get really dangerous. Beyond that is just a charade at this point. Running the country is just far too complex for democracy to have any real meaning any more.

Well, Rob I happen to be a nice person. You need to hang with a better quality crowd.
