Thanks Arkady. Looks like you have to be a member of Angie’s List to see the reviews. Spoke to my Physical Therapist who had heard of the three surgeons to whom my Orthopedist referred me and she recommended one that her patients had raved about, so I think I’ll go with him.
I don’t know, Biff. I’ve known some of the doctors on the survey, and I think they deserve to be there, but part of me always wonders if the survey is somewhat fixed. I usually get 1-2 referrals from friends and colleagues who have had good experiences — that’s how I got my current dentist and plastic surgeon.
No solution needed? Then how are we going to get a functional healthcare system? Or a rail system (to use benson’s example) that doesn’t suck? These questions will require our politicians to step outside of their party boundaries.
You know what cracks me up about how people are treating the tea-party protestors – the same way folks talked about the student protestors in the 60’s.
In the 60’s, the anger and passion was on the left. The protestors were put down as a bunch of long-haired know-nothings.
Now here in this decade thanks to President Obama and the democratic congressional leaders’ arrogance, the energy and passion is on the right. We’ve got the protestors on the street. We’ve got the media that is energized (how’s Air America doing these days, btw?), exposing corruption, etc. How do the old lefties in power respond? By calling the Tea-partiers ingnorant know-nothings!
Well, buckle up folks. Just like those student protests of the 60’s changed this country, you’re watching the same thing hapen again. And unlike Lech, I think it is a good thing. That’s what democracy is all about, and what makes this country great. Be it Andrew Jackson, the protests of the 60’s or the tea-partiers, everyone once in a while there is a popular uprising, all to the good.
No solution needed. It just is what it is. I suppose it would be cheaper to have a computer randomly assign wins and losses in elections but that’s just too forward thinking at the moment.

My MD is now at NYU Langone. Good to know that, Arkady. Not that I want to fraternize with the nurses ever!!! Maybe the Filipino guys!!!

benson – get real. The real energy of the teabags is latent (or overt) racism.

Biffers – The angieslist ratings are supposed to be reliable.
Thanks CGar, I was surfing around NY Mag but couldn’t find the three surgeons I was looking for. Maybe a bad sign?
