So how come the Yankees and Red Sox and Angels don’t win the championship every year? The Cardinals, Marlins, White Sox and Diamondbacks have won championships in the 200s. Yeah, the big money teams have the biggest advantage. But nothing is guaranteed. That’s why they play the games. His team has as good a chance as most to win it all. Are they favorite? no. Could it happen? Definitely, if everything breaks right. Bottom line he’s wealthy either way, so why not play where the people love and know you? It’s not really much of a decision for most people, I’d think.
Legion- enough already. You don’t seem to know much about the bill at all- except what you get from Faux news and the Republican talking points. As for crying that not a single Republican voted for it, whose fault is that? The Republicans have made it a cause to just say no to anything a Dem might ask for. No suggestions, no solutions, just let’s keep the status quo and declare everything the Dems say, a lie. Death panels, taking away grandma’s medicare, putting out fake Dem memos trashing the bill, whipping up tea baggers into a virulent frenzy- what haven’t the Republicans stooped to?
Can you really expect us to trust the same people who got us into this mess? The bill is a beginning. I am sure there will be many changes- but it is change. And Lord knows, we needed it.
Speaking of immigration, I found out over the weekend that the guy who does gardening work for me and my neighbors in Bucks County had been arrested for a DUI and deported back to Honduras over the winter.
He had a real nice vacation I bet down there and he got back into the country about a week ago!!!
M4L, Rob would actually do pretty well there. Gov’t subsidizes everyone and everyone is given an apartment and a job except that if you want a better life style (meaning a brownstone, vacations, eating out)….too bad. You would have to cheat and steal (or be in politics) for that. You can’t voice your opinions though. The minute you make a blatant statement to anyone, you might find yourself in Guantanamo style detention.
The photos I saw from the protests outside the capitol were pretty shocking, but I suspect that will come back and bite the repubs this fall for falling prey to their most virulent wing. Whereas dems head into the fall with their most liberal elements somewhat peeved. I think in good governance you want your extreme wings a bit miffed with you.
I was listening to Dem/Rep debate on CNN last night after the bill pass and it really sounded very similar to Legion/Bxgrl debate on here. It was actually pretty scary how each side were making the same points as you guys on here and how each side were calling the other liars respectfully.
