Of course he did. He IS FROM MINNEAPOLIS. He went to HIGH SCHOOL in MINNEAPOLIS. He is as close to a home-grown star as has ever existed there. As long as the Twins got close to the market price he was going to stay. Could he have made more with another club? Definitely. Could he have played major-league baseball for a contending club in is HOME TOWN in front of his family and everyone he grew up with anywhere else? No. Money isn’t everything, M4L.

No, I think you and others are starting to realize it. I’m sure that like a lot of people who are ahead of their time, he’s known it for quite some time that he’s capable of thinking 3-4 steps ahead of most people. And let’s face it, when you’re talking about his opposition, you’re not talking about the most nuanced bunch, just the people with the most money and status in the American sense. He’s not perfect, and he will lose battles like anyone else, but he said he’d get this enormously difficult task done and he has. If I were a right winger, I’d be feeling a little whipped up on right about now.
so what does this new healthcare bill entail? in plain terms, please. is there a chance my employer will now drop our insurance and i’ll have to opt for some kind of government welfare healthcare plan? i mean in theory i think healthcare for everyone is a good idea, but what does this plan actually mean? how can this plan be 3000 pages long? what on earth could possibly be said in it?
McCain has already come out and said the GOP will repeal the bill. He may not even be in office, but he still hasn’t gotten the message that he lost the Presidential election.
I saw that too, arkady. It was shameful. On the plus side, the turnout by the tea baggers was much smaller than expected.The teabaggers are even disgusting themselves.
