  1. blowfish,

it is part of what I am saying. the other part is that those people in the slums of india, north korea and brazil don’t get a chance to succeed.
at the very least all do in our country today.
by sowing this type of class discord you are negating that idea and substituting the notion of a caste system or a rigid structure to wealth in america.

I’m also asking you to examine what it is you mean when you say poor in america, because too many times this term is thrown around with all the assumptions of a Sally Struthers commercial.

  2. The problem with your statement, benson, is that it misses the point of job transfer abroad. You’re right in that manufacturing transfer is inevitable, but we here could’ve mitigated its effects.

There was the opportunity to encourage the types of technological manufacturing here which would’ve given us a head start–say solar panels, high-speed rail, etc. And a little protectionism would’ve gone a long way. I guess “patriotism” is only a buzz-word for the political arenas.

  3. “You guys get it together and shape the f**k up!”

You are totally right of course ENY. I just was just expressing my deepest fears amongst friends. But fair weather I am not and of course I remember losing the first two games in 96 at home. So yeah, F**K PEDRO! Go Yanks!

  4. yes, there is a variation of wealth.

Legion, if your point is that our poor working class is better off than the people in the slums of india, north korea, or brazil, then I agree with you. is that what you are saying?

  5. I’m very happy. I just can’t stand it when nutjobs like Stevie spin their own economic theories to support their political beliefs.

    I guess he’s a fiction writer.

cobble, Stevie started all of this. I’m just responding.

  6. “wasder, I agree. I’m not over-confident whatsoever about tonight’s game. Even when past their prime, great pitchers like Pedro often have a way of resurrecting their best stuff.”

“yeah, what happened to Phil Hughes? Guy was lights out all year and all of a sudden can’t throw the ball over the plate.”

I can’t believe what I’m hearing. Oh ye of little faith. One loss has you guys afraid of the Yanks losing the whole thing? You guys are jumping off the bandwagon? Phil Hughes is a 20-something who’s never been in the playoffs. Girardi will figure out a way to make the staff work up to Mo, just as he’s done ALL season! Did Jim Leyritz think it was over when the Braves were up 2 games to none? Did Andy Pettite? You guys get it together and shape the f**k up!

    “God I f**ing hate Pedro!”

NOW you’ve got it! Keep those vibes going! ABOVE ALL, DO NOT SELL OUT ON YOUR TEAM. REPEAT AFTER ME:

    WHO’S YOUR DADDY?
