  1. CMU and Snappy,

I do take offense at you suggesting that I am somehow lacking in “humanistic” qualities because I expect much of my fellow man. I do expect my fellow man to strive to make things better for himself and his family. I do expect my fellow man to hue closely to an ideal that is fast becoming an anachronistic notion; “work is good for the soul”.
I also expect my fellow man to learn from his past mistakes and realize that a society built on the assumption that you are due something, is a society on route to failure.

  2. cmu…maybe you misunderstood my post. He’s inventing his own economic reality to fit his political view. He’s not spinning actual economic theory.

As for the “nutjob” ad hominem attack, go back and read his earliest posts today from before you arrived on the scene.

  3. Cobble- can I sit with you guys (Snaps- I’m voting for you too!)

Brooklynishome- if by incumbent you mean Al Vannished, the man who has done nothing for Crown heights, Mark Griffith is by far a better choice. Vannished is useless- it isn’t just homeowner who want him out. Its those of us who want to see an effective leader speaking up and out for us. No one can bend Al to their will- he doesn’t care.

  4. First game into the season and M4L can no longer boast that the Knicks are undefeated.

That’s call foresight my man. I knew this would happen hence I squeezed in all the undefeated lines for as long as I can.

another brutal day covering mtgs for boss and yeah, no decisions were made – just bs brainstorming, planning, etc chit chat

  5. “I guess sane, calm, rational, correct people like you and Legion should allowed to spout your apolitical, humanistic beliefs without retort.”

Correct! Now you’re getting it, cmu! ; )

Patriot! Whose a patriot!? Didn’t Sarah Palin teach you anything? Only conservatives/right wing republicans are patriotic! We’re no good rotten commies who should be taken out and shot for our beliefs! We’re ruining this good country of ours, I mean theirs!

[Thank g*d I have to leave now, I feel SUCH a rant coming on….]

  6. insertsnappyname,

we can always do better, no doubt. but I will ask you. do those people in Louisana get free schooling? do they get free medical care? do they get free food ? do they have shelter?
you know they do. this is the USA after all.
you make it seem like there is no role for free will in this nation.
Is that what you and CMU are suggesting? because that is a much larger debate.

  7. CMU, I remember (India?), and, I’m an immigrant from a country whose standard of living has not increased due to exporting to America.

DIBS – your 50 yr old mind is as sharp as a surgical knife when it comes to remembering potential lays.

  8. CMU;

Please compare the job growth in the US with that of Western Europe and Japan over the past 25 years. There has been virtually ZERO job growth in these other economies.

Ever hear of Cisco, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Intel or Yahoo? These are the companies of the future. They have generated vast amounts of wealth and jobs. Tell me: where is the Japanese or European equivalent of Google or Intel?

Finally, let me politely respond to anyone who questions my patriotism: F%ck you very much.

  9. i am asking you to examine what it is you mean when you say ‘chance to succeed.’ That is a phrase that thrown around too much. Maybe the people in the Congo have a chance to succeed, if they simply stage a violent revolution. Our working class people have systematic obstacles designed to keep them from advancing, designed to stop them from using their own labor as capital, despite the fact that some break through.

i am also thanking everyone for not pointing out my typo-bonanza today.
