Benson those statistics they quote come from the US Census Bureau and the USDA. So I’m going to assume that even though you asks for statistics you didn’t really want them. You were just hoping they couldn’t be produced.
Also your bit about the military is great although I find your use of it to deflect from the current topic a little distasteful.

Mopar – Real lino is incredibly expensive – most people use a small bit as an area rug nowadays. Resilient vinyl flooring in sheet goods is very good & replicates lino quite well.
Can we discuss Title IX? Anyone know of a wealthy relative or friend who gave away all their assets in anticipation of needing or wanting Title IX to pay for nursing home care a few years down the road. I believe the look-back period has been extended from 3 to 5 years, perhaps longer. I’m not saying I condone it, though I was almost a beneficiary of a relative’s largesse once – almost, but we went the reverse mortgage route instead.
More4Less, until this moment at the linoleum store, we were doing really good!!!! The electrical came in at less than estimated, and everyone else we’ve tried to hire has told us the job is too small for them and to do it ourselves.
Ok, here comes the hearthless, grouchy republican again.
I have to quote FSRG here: words matter, and the word “starve” is an extreme one. It has a quite different meaning from mal-nourished or under-nourished.
ENY: you provided links to news stories of negligent parents wherein the kid starved. I think that is a far cry from starvation due to economic distress. One of these kids lived in the Bronx, where every single day of the year free lunches are served in the local public school.
THL: I know I’m going to take alot of heat for this, but I am not convinced by literature from charitable organizations, as they are self-serving. Moreover, I think it doesn’t talk about “starving” people, it talks about undernourished people.
MM: I really wish you would stop implying that this is an uncaring country. As I write this trivial message, there are men and women dying in the service, and they get little gain out of it. Whether or not you agree with the war, the fact is that these people volunteered for this service, to fight for freedom at risk of their own life, and we’re talking about over a million folks. Where the hell are other countries when it comes to doing the heavy lifting? As Kens said, this is the greatest country in the whole damn world.
This is exactly what I mean: words from certain posters are taken as gospel, in which they try to impugn the motives of those who simply have a different philospohy.

more debating and less preaching / recruiting please. I don’t like seeing good people fighting at personal level for no reason.
CG;
It used to be three years, now it’s five. Go to an eldercare lawyer, and he’ll help you set up the proper trust.
You don’t need to apologize for trying to hold on to your own money.

Actually, if Judi Davis wants to play both Arkady and me, that’d be OK with me. I like Judi Davis.
