“You probably wont see a Canadian immigrant here working as a waiter, construction worker or a grocery clerk while you will see plenty of Russians, Asians and immigrants from some other countries where quality of life is not as great as here.”
Kens, that is because it would be virtually impossible for a Canadian to legally emigrate to the US for those types of jobs. Even the most qualified of professionals have to jump through hoops, especially since 9/11 to be sponsored for a Green Card. I know all of this first hand. And most people in Canada will not and do not have to illegally come to the US to take on such positions to support themselves and their families back home when they can get the same jobs (in the fields you mentioned) with equal pay and better benefits in Canada.
Pete, you are very right on that. I again, am not comparing U.S. to Canada and maybe Canada does have a better system which is still not perfect. All I am saying is that no system is perfect and if U.S. decides to nationalize healthcare, it will be a lot of trouble for this country. There is a way to better it and maybe we can even come close to perfect healthcare system or at least improve ours and give access to most people but Nationalizing it and what the proposals are is not the way to go, in my opinion. I don’t want to repeat anymore but Legion made enormous amounts of arguments that will help the system. There are smart advisers to the government, why not try those?

I don’t understand your method here.

You wouldn’t think my front area needs several days, would you?
I’d like to give a shout out to Bxgrl. I was able to use her awesome word ailurophile today.
I’m in full agreement with Legion and I have not been drinking at lunch.
Arkady, please respond to the disturbing comment above.
kens- I have a really hard time thinking anything justifies watching people die for lack of care and saying “that’s life.”
“I’ve been painting some things in my front area for the past couple of days.”
DIBS has been fronting some things in his taint area for the past couple of days.
