Foxtons sold a house on Willoughby Ave, 2 blocks from the G train for 399,000. Three storey plus cellar. Real Brownstone with mantles, hard wood floors, original doors, etc.. It did need new kitchens, baths and heating/electric but that is still under 500K
Sorry renogirl, didn’t see that listing on A&H and mistook it for the other one on Cambridge Place. Looks very nice. I wonder how nice the frescos are in person, or if they look tacky. I’d be interested if anyone has a look. If it is near Myrtle, the price would be a real record, but then again it sounds like you get a double sized lot and carriage house.
I always thought that Stuyvesant Heights was the historic district within greater Bed-Stuy. It has a special designation, yet is still very much a part of Bed-Stuy.
enclave may speak volumes but so does hood
In which neighborhood (or universe for that matter) are real estate agents not driving up prices with marketing? That’s their job for god’s sake.
I agree that the RE market in general is overheated, but the phenomenon is not limited to Bed Stuy. Check out any newly hot neighborhood Crown Heights, South Slope, Windsor Terrace, Prospect Heights, Gowanus, Sunset Park….
PS I would love to know the condition and location of the house that sold for 450K.
The fact that you used the term “enclave” speaks volumes
Oh, please – we all now that as hoods change areas within the hood are carved out and given a better sounding name to go along with the new reputation.
The A & H mansion they are talking about is the one I orginally mentioned in this post. It IS just below Myrtle. Is it 2.1? That is a nutty new price level for a location below Myrtle, but prices are so crazy this year, I doubt any of us have sticker shock anymore. Yes, it really is gorgeous.
Thats like saying East Village is in Greenwich Village because they both have Village in them.
Stuy Heights is a small enclave next to BedStuy which is much larger.
If it was one in the same then there would be one name.
