  1. 1. It would be really nice if people would stop using anonymous, and create a screen identity for themselves. It’s pretty tiresome, trying to scroll back down to tell the difference between anonymous 3:24, 4:05… whatever.

    2. Bed Stuy is not homogenous!!!!! It may be majority black, but there are stay at home moms, interracial couples, a large south asian muslim population, as well as project dwellers and middle class, and upper middle class business owners.

    3. Come on the house tour and see what Bed Stuy is really like before you make comments.

  2. It’s unfortunate but most people that are judging Bedstuy (and Stuyvesant Heights is Bedstuy, just as Nostrand towards Bedford was Bedstuy! It’s just one of the more developed neighborhoods in Bedstuy with Akwaaba restaurant & mansion of Monique Greene , the bookstore and the Atwells) prices as too high don’t realize that this is the nature of real estate. Five years ago prices in CH and FG were considered way too high. We got into Bedstuy below 200k and at the time FG and CH was going for 400-500k now look at where it is. I’ve seen those horrid new developments that everyone on this site frowns about going for 700k in my neighborhood, so why is it that a historic brownstone w/ details couldn’t go for 500k+. I think many people are fooling themselves and are prejudice to their particular neighborhood. But the simple fact remains we all want to see the value in our neighborhoods increase as well as the quality of living. BS is no park slope or bay ridge but then again Brooklyn is not Manhattan. Personally, properties such as 128 Clinton Ave, or the properties in PS and BH, i couldn’t imagine people paying those prices to live in those particular houses, but too each his own. Houses that have gone for prices below 500K in Bedstuy, majority of them need renovations and or are foreclosures. Not saying that you can’t find deals in Bedstuy below 500K, but I think neighborhood prices increase accordingly, and to be honest with you I think MANY neighborhoods are OVERPRICED!! I hate to say it but when whites seem to come into neighborhoods or when realtors try to attract a certain clientele in particular neighborhoods it’s ok that the prices are 1-3 million, but because Bedstuy is predominantly Black it’s not ok that prices are 500K+??? I’ve seen developments in Bushwick, which they are now calling East Williamsburg going for outrageous prices, such as the 101 Wyckoff properties(condos for 400-500K that are maybe a little over a 1,000 sq feet??) and those neighborhoods are no where near Bedstuy as far as history or development goes!! I think this all comes down to class and race. I’ve gone to some of these open houses in PS and CH and PH and the way these realtors look at me it’s like I’m not suppose to be in this neighborhood, but that’s another topic.

  3. 1.9 is too high for the hous on Union St. It is better priced at 1.5 to 1.6

BedStuy and CH house are better priced at 500K

The CH and Bh house seem to be priced correctly.

Each house and neighborhoods have price per sqft

  4. your missing my point. bed stuy, crown heights , bushwick all seem to have buzz, where as bay ridge has none. yet these neighborhoods are at least 10 years away from bay ridge in terms of amenities and quality of life and maybe a lifetime away in terms of public schools. yet all people talk about is bed stuy, all i’m saying if you your looking for an alterntive to ps,fg,ch because of price some of you might want to look at br. thats only my opinion if your happy in bed stuy, i’m glad for you. to each their own.
