This three-story brick house at 43 3rd Street in Carroll Gardens just hit the market with an asking price of $1,390,000. It looks like a very cute place to us, with lots original detail on both the inside and outside. To us, it’s screaming out to be a one-family, but appears to work fine currently as a two. You likey?

  1. where’s all the talk about traffic coming from? does everyone still think this is 3rd ave and not 3rd street? i dont think it would be that noisy/traffic-y. it’s a 2 lane street…so?

  2. DIBS,
Oh yeh, you wanna make something of it? I’ll have my fashion mafioso on your doorstep pronto with “school bus yellow” paint to paint your trim. Tie you up and make you watch them do it.
Oh, but then you might like that.
    Nevermind.

  3. There is very little work required here. Tear out third floor kitchen, that will cost you about $2,000 tops for demo, carting, plastering, painting. Re-do ground floor kitchen and the baths to your taste, whether that means buying a $200 Ikea island and some appliances or installing custom cabinetry a la DIBS. You’re done.

  4. well then the plus for the school. I think the one on union/hoyt is a minus.
And of course, Donatella really doesn’t know the neighborhood. No big front yards on 3rd street…and not close to BQE.
