Co-op of the Day: 115 Eastern Parkway, #3D
This one-bedroom co-op at 115 Eastern Parkway in Prospect Heights has been the lucky recipient of a rather spiffy makeover recently. The asking price of $450,000 might be higher than usual for this building, but clearly this renovation deserves some kind of premium. You can check out the modern stylings at Sunday’s open house. Oh. Wait. This apartment is 3-D
That changes everything! Just need a pair of glasses.
I kind of like it. $450k isn’t the right price (probably $75k too high), but it beats a lot of the other garbage out there at the moment.
I looked at this unit pre-renovation or a very similar one in the building back in fall of 2004. If I recall it was for sale at 299K. I don’t think the renovation plus any price appreciation since late 2004 is worth 150K.
My recollection is that the bedroom is a real, but tiny bedroom with a window looking at the air-shaft. That said, I sort of like the renovation – these apartments had no period detail to destroy and the kitchens were 1980s rental apartment type kitchens.
Sure, the renovation is not everyone’s cup of tea but it is more creative than the bland home depot/pottery barn style so prevalent these days. I think they used the small space well.
Actually….

They look like the toilets in prison cells. Wonder if they have a model with a sink mounted on the tank.

What’s a “Duravit Starck” toilet?
Sounds like a fancy IKEA name.
DH – you’ll know after you try it! When you finish dropping the kids off at the pool, you’ll want to divorce your wife. It’s that good.
Oh wait. No. It’s a wall-mounted toilet.
What’s a “Duravit Starck” toilet?
I assume the “*” means that the alcove is windowless? Probably should say studio with overly designed office nook.
The wallpaper in the bedroom is putting me into a trance and all I hear:
‘Must buy this apartment even tho it’s overpriced. Must buy it.’
