Condo of the Day: Montauk Club Mega-Spread
Wow. Could this 4,000-square-foot spread at The Montauk Club be the coolest apartment in all of Brooklyn? If it had outdoor space it would be a lay-up. As is, though, the entire floor of the historic club is pretty darn impressive, with its 45-foot-long ballroom and original leaded glass windows, mahogany wainscotting and inlaid mosaic…

This time, the listing’s claim that this is a “once in a lifetime offering” isn’t B.S.

I think it went for about a million 8 or so years ago. I could be wrong, but I was working for this venture capitalist at the time who was looking at lofts in Chelsea in that price range and I got bored and started looking myself. I showed this to him (well I showed him a HUGE apt in the Montauk Club, am assuming this one), but he didn’t want to move to Brooklyn.
It could have been less money though, unsure.
“p-l-e-n-t-y of time to scope it out, and then bail if it sux. lets do it!”
Can we be the ones who bring their own flask, sit in the corner and chain smoke while giggling about which guy has the biggest….er…bowl of dicks?
Whoever gets this place will be a remarkable person with a remarkable life.
you gotta wonder why they didn’t use the much better photos from the Cookie article. I’m sure the owners were gifted some of the non-published pics — that’s pretty typical
Will buy beers and/or shots but will never switch teams. I have my standards.

OK dibs, you’re on. 3,465,000.00. you have the over. loser has to switch teams for a day.
Not my cup of tea, 11217.
Joe….lets do a side bet as to how long its on the market. I say it goes for less than 10% off of ask and it is in contract in 6 months.
From what I understand, $14k a year is only “incredibly high” on a 3.8mm property in Brooklyn. If you spent that much on a mansion outside of the city, your taxes would be way, way higher. Correct?
