Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: Three Sold, One Off the Market
Here’s a look at four of our featured listings from six months ago, located in Bushwick, Sunset Park, Prospect Heights and Prospect Park South.

Here’s a look at how four of our featured listings from six months ago fared on the market.
First up this week, we have an elegant Colonial Revival with an Ionic-columned porch that’s been modernized and restored, with loads of original millwork and stained glass windows. Dating to 1899, it’s at 171 Marlborough Road in the Prospect Park South Historic District. This former House of the Day sold in June for the initial asking price of $3.25 million.
Next, there’s a prewar one-bedroom co-op that’s attractive, with double exposures and a nice view overlooking the Brooklyn Botanic Garden from the bedroom. It’s on the 13th floor of Turner Towers, the 1926 Art Deco building at 135 Eastern Parkway, across from the garden and the Brooklyn Museum. This former Co-op of the Day sold in June for $800,000, which was $51,000 above the asking price.
After that, a Queen Anne house with exotic terra-cotta ornamentation and other standout features at 53 Linden Street in Bushwick. The ten houses of the row and the gorgeous anchor house at the corner of Linden and Bushwick Avenue were built in 1888 and designed by architect Frank Keith Irving. This former House of the Day did not sell and is currently off the market.
Wrapping it up, there’s a fetching yellow-brick townhouse in Sunset Park, where townhouses in good shape with details aren’t often found. It’s been in the same family for over 50 years, and from the look of things, they’ve taken good care of the place. A 20-foot-wide three-story with a four-bedroom duplex over a garden rental, it’s move-in ready and offers original wood floors, bay windows, crown moldings and a nice tiled mantel. The drab kitchen could use an upgrade. This former Open House Pick sold in April for $1.6 million, which was $100,000 above the asking price.
