Last week we brought you handyman specials, but this week all of our open house picks are move-in ready, though some offer room for improvement to the buyer who’s inclined. Three are in Bed Stuy, and two of those a mere half-block apart, making it easy to hit three out of the four in one short swing; the outlier is in Sunset Park.

First up, a fetching yellow-brick townhouse on 45th Street in Sunset Park, where townhouses in good shape with details aren’t often found. It’s been in the same family for over 50 years, and from the look of things, they’ve taken good care of the place. A 20-foot-wide three-story with a four-bedroom duplex over a garden rental, it’s move-in ready and offers original wood floors, bay windows, crown moldings and a nice tiled mantel. The drab kitchen could use an upgrade.

The next three are in Bed Stuy; first, a three-story corner property on Patchen Avenue, at Monroe Street. It’s got a unit on each floor, with split heating and cooling, and perhaps best suited for an investor. Photos are few; based on what’s there the place is not going to win any design awards, but it’s renovated and in good shape, and the three exposures should make for decent light. There’s no backyard, but the second-floor dwellers get a wooden terrace.

The next one’s a mere half-block walk down Monroe Street. This one’s a narrow (14 feet) brick three-story that’s newly gut renovated. A single-family, it’s got three bedrooms and two baths upstairs, and an open plan parlor floor with herringbone floors, an open staircase and a wall of glass in the rear. There’s a nice modern kitchen with dark gray cabinetry, white Caesarstone countertops, a center island and a deck beyond, with steps down to a horizontal-fenced yard. The garden level offers a large open “recreation area,” with the mechanicals in the rear.

Last up, on Herkimer Street, another petite three-story brick number, this one measuring around 15 feet by 35 feet. It’s a two-family, with a one-bedroom rental over a duplex. The listing describes it as “moderately renovated,” but it looks to have been gutted at some point, and redone with a utilitarian interior that remains in decent condition. So it’s livable as-is, but also a possible upgrade candidate. It’s solar-heated, a nice and rarely seen touch, and there’s a fenced yard and laundry in the low-ceilinged basement.
