Bad News for Bed Stuy Bodegas
From a Bed-Stuy Patch article written by a real estate broker: “Let your friends know you heard it here first: Bed Stuy mixed-use property is about to explode. When this happens, start the clock on your local bodegas. Because in about five years, their time will be up.” Photo by gkjarvis

I love the Bed-Stuy foodtown. They deliver, dave- the delivery guy is a real sweetheart. It was awful when it was a Pathmark. I’m liking the Nostrand Ave. Key Food better these days since they fixed it up but their basement must be a sewer because sometimes there is a horrid odor coming up- yet the store itself is very clean.
Ishtar- You’re right-Franklin is doing really well but I am off Nostrand and would love more amenities there. But we are getting more shops. A New sushi place, a steak and rib [place, a new coffee shop. It’s exciting.
The coop rented a storefront on Putnam, the block before it runs into Fulton. Just east of Grand.
MM, just sometimes i wonder about you.. you never EVER have a confrontational opinion about anything. you just plather on waiting for the chorus of “well saids!”

I think the Foodtown on Fulton is a great store. i rarely get there though as it’s a bit far to walk to for me and more convenient bringing stuff back from manhattan.
I think they may be the only place in NYC that still carries Mother Goose Liverwurst.
“I’d love more amenities here in Crown Heights too.”
Franklin is pretty well serviced at this point, but Nostrand is lagging a bit with things appearing to be coming along nicely.
The coop is supposed to be somewhere on the Clinton Hill Bed-Stuy border. I think it’s called Green Hill or something like that. Seems like it’s a lot closer for Stuy residents than treking all the way to PS Coop.
rh, I’m talking about Atlantic Center/Lower East Side/Gowanus Pathmark, not the one that used to be where Foodtown is now. I didn’t live in BS then, but went once. Once was enough!
rh, Pathmark is much cheaper than Foodtown for everyday stuff. Even regular milk. And much, much, much better sales.
I’m still waiting for rob’s “two reasons why anyone would live in bed Stuy.”
Montrose – Well said!!!
