Stoop refurbishing

We used Middle Village Construction and so did our next door neighbor. They did a really great job for what I suppose is a reasonable price (approx $4600) given how expensive a total rebuild is with all new materials. Ours is red brick and gray granite. I do know they did a thorough and well-built job, demoed and hauled off the old, rebuilt the new from the ground up including new footings, rebar, etc. We did hire a separate company to do the iron work after they rebuilt the stoop itself.

A few days ago someone was asking about fixing stoops. Just talked w/ a neighbor who thought his was fine & just needed cosmetic work. Masons started on it & it turns out that the whole thing was near collapse – bricks holding up the stoop were seriously out of true & it’ll have to be entirely rebuilt. It’s mind-boggling to look at.

J and L Landscaping on Caton Place redid my brick stoop 7 years ago and it still looks new.
