We went with Home Depot for one roof because you can use the Home Depot credit card. We thought they would be great – they were okay. 

1\. It’s HDs contracted company – they do not come any sooner or get the job done faster.
2\. When I found a mistake, I complained. They fixed it, but they were annoyed.

Good side – I was glad to have the Home Depot card to pay it off – interest free.

Ive used Home Depot in the past and it was only because I had the ability to get a 32% reduction of final price. When I compared to contractors that came by giving numerous different estimates that widely varied, I went with HD only for warranty and if I had a problem I call Amex and put the whole thing on hold. The other contractors were cash/check only and the price difference after 32% was only about $300 for the piece of mind. BTW, HD was a headache but with credit card they became very flexible.

thanks guys. my quotes have been through a few local roofers recommended on brownstoner.  i didnt really consider home depot but i just saw an ad with them installing roofs.

I agree with James. Paying the Home Depot to act as a middle man between you and your contractor is just dumb. Bullfrog Builders replaced my roof. Took them 2 days and it looks perfect.

Why do you want to use Home depot to install roof. why not get a contractor to do the job. I am sure they will do better than home depot. I used this contractor to do our roof. Their number is 718-669-8305 and the company  name is CTG construction.
