Permit to refinish floors?
An odd question since most major interior renovations in Brooklyn are done without permits and refinishing flooors is akin to painting.

I am having our wooden floors refinished is a permit required for this? There will not be any walls moved or any major construction just sanding and a bit of hammering to replace a few missing boards

No, NO DOB permit is repaired. However, if you live in a co-op or condo there might be some rule requiring board approval.

No permit needed, if you are in a multifamily building just notify your co-op board or building manager they will instruct you if they need the contractors insurance, license etc…
