GC for windows and roof?

This might be a totally facile question, but we are admittedly beginners at renovation and buying a brownstone. It needs a new roof and new landmark windows, among other things. Would it be recommended/safer to bring in a GC for this or could we get our own roofer and window company?

I’m a GC.  I would recommend you go with specialists.  (We do windows and roofs but as part of larger projects).

depends on how much “amongst other things” is.
If it´s only roof and windows, you might just pick 2 companies by yourself.
