Entrance doors

hi – does anyone have a referral for cos that make front entrance doors for brownstones / townhomes? My house is landmarked. What’s a reasonable range ? I know these are custom so not cheap but I have sticker shock from one quote I received. Thanks !

We got a quote from Amighini Architectural in the $12k region for full height replica brownstone double doors last year. We did not move forward as landmarks very much wanted an exact replica of the doors on the tax photo and would not approve the door we wanted (although it was historically appropriate). Amighini provided the drawings etc, also I did ask for a clause that allowed repayment should landmarks not approve which they honored.

we do it but it is pricey. the problem with this kind of work is a business owner cannot just turn it over to any old generalist; the owner of the shop has to do it himself (or delegate it to a highly skilled and highly paid employee). We make doors and even though we charge a lot, I cannot say we make any more money making them than we do doing other things. Steve
